Really sad Sharon. You are the one that claimed republicans were blocking legislation that would help Military families with their health care! Total misrepresentation of fact! When I post 5 consecutive articles to the contrary you say you don't believe a word I say? In fact it has been Obama that is driving up the cost of healthcare to our vets. Those are not my words, they are facts for you to see! Unfortunately, your arguements have been 99.9% rhetoric, and not followed up with information supporting your position and beliefs. I will not stand by and be silent when rhetoric and misinformation are so easily spewed. You respond, I will respond again, that simple. Snooker

I don't think I was referring to a healthcare bill, Snooker. I am pretty sure I was referring to a job's bill for returning veterans. I read some of the articles you posted concerning Healthcare benefits for vets...I, too, have to pay a large sum of out-of-pocket expense for my Medicare, ie: deductibles, prescriptions, and office visits, some lab work...you name it, I have to pay some of it. Medicare is not free...we pay into it same as you pay for your private insurance but at a lower rate...for me it is 10% of what I get in Social Security. Then I have to pay an additional $156 per mo. for my supplement to cover what...I don't know. Spending cuts will have to be made. Both sides say Medicare is not exempt...why then should Tricare or whatever else is made available to vets. be exempt? Sure they served our country (it was their own choice...they were not drafted!). Everyone has to give a little and to tell you the truth...if I have to "give" anymore than I may as well just give up!

Why should someone who has done nothing for this country get a free cell phone and unlimited minutes? Our millitary troops should be the last people in this country to have to give up more. Yet Obama has no problem leaving unionized civilian workers benefits untouched! Read the first sentence of this article. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] This stinks to hell and back. Obama continues to coddle his union buddies. Obama gave the AFLCIO and UAW unions waivers from Obamacare too. He continues to crap on our military. Like I said, he has a deep seeded dispise for our troops. He loves photo ops though. His actions speak volumes.

What the hell is your problem with "seniors," Snooker. One day you better hope you become one and I bet you will be the first in line collecting all that you can you selfish (you-know-what)! And who says I haven't done as much for my country as some military jock sitting at a desk his whole military life. One shoe doesn't fit all...can't even call YOU my friend...you know like Mitt does. Obama doesn't "crap" on the military, but you throw "crap" all over the place. Fact...the auto unions had to give up alot to HELP get the auto industry back on its feet. They were NOT coddled like you say. I live in SE Michigan...we are still trying to come out of this God awful recession Bush put us in! I wonder why the Republicans never mention Bush anymore? Think they made a mistake making him their "puppet" for four years?!!

We are on the right path. You don't like the way this country is going so you continue to bash Obama and whatever he has attempted to do. What will Mitt do? for our economy, foreign affairs, social security, medicare, medicaid. The list goes on and on and you still haven't answered my question. That's because he says one thing, then his "staff" changes it the next day. He lies through his teeth and you can't deny that. He IS an "Etch-a-sketch" guy, but that doesn't seem to bother you at all. When you anwered this question in the other post, I just laughed!! We all want the same, it's how we get there that counts. I believe in the people...all of them, not just the 1% you believe in. We all can't get by by ourselves. Some of us do need some help now and then. If you say you have never used any of the government's services then I say you are lying! I could go on and on, but frankly, Snooker...you bore me with all of your selfish right wing rhetoric. Here's a link to an article debunking what you call a "union bailout!" Enjoy!

Sharon,

Ok so now you accuse me of being a "senior hater" and "selfish." Where did that come from? All I said was that I believe our Military people should be the "last" people in this country to "give up more". My post was not directed at you, it was directed at Obama policy. Exactly how does that make me "selfish", and how does that make me a "senior hater" ?

Quoting the first sentence of your reply: "Why should someone who has done nothing for this country get a free cell phone and unlimited minutes!" That can only refer to the... what...47% Romney referred to? It also rang a bell with me because we here in Michigan have a gov. program (which I know you are opposed to 100%) that allows the poor and disabled (many of them seniors) to get a free cell phone...don't know about the unlimited, except for unlimited grief caused by the bashing by most Tea Partiers who have no compassion whatsoever as to the plight of us who comprise most of the 47% now that the middle class has almost dissappeared! See article:

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Sharon

P.S. You still haven't explained why you like Romney/Ryan so much, except that what you describe me as: a strict party line voter, is exactly what you are regardless of what "they" stand for. Why won't you exalt the virtues of Romney/Ryan instead of bashing Obama...oh, right...that's what the Republicans do. Most Tea Party politicians will tell you: "No to Obama...our way or the highway!" I do hope the Dems have learned their lesson and will no longer "kiss the feet" of compromise with the Tea Partiers. I say that, because all of the moderates have left their Party and all that is left are "crazies" hell bent on ABORTION laws and to hell with the American people. They embrace Citizens United and its destructive nature to the very soul of our Government: "Government of the people, by the people and for the people!"

It's not a matter of me liking R&R so much, as it is that I dispise what Obama and Biden have proven to be.

R&R were not raised by Marxists, they were not mentored by Communists, They do not want to "fudenmentally Transform" this country, they did not attend a racist church for 20 years, a church that blatantly, expouses hate toward whites and Jews, a church who's reverend preaches "God damn America", and is best of friends with muslim racist "Louis Farrakhan" who also wants to see this country and Israel destroyed. Hopefully, R&R will not appoint a cabinet and Czars that are Communists, Marxists, and radical Muslim backers. RLMcB brought up the point to Mi and I, "Be careful who you travel with", well let's just say I don't like the people Obama is traveling with, none of them!

You don't need to listen to a commentator explain what this is about, listen to the words of the people in this video. Listen to Bill Clinton, listen to John Conyers, listen to Obama, listen to Howard Dean, Listen to congress lady Jan Shakowsky. This is about fundemental transformation of our country into a Socialist/Communist, New World Order. Listen to what Bill Clinton says about, borders around the world disappearing. This is about redistribution on a world wide scale. This is about removing America from it's exceptional status in the world. Because we as a country are at the top, this is about trickle up poverty. If this beast get's implemented you won't be talking about the 1%, you will be talking about the .0001%. The elite of the elite of the elite, will have everything and will dictate how it's subjects live, if they are allowed to live at all.

Just read this debunking of all the crazy myths the "right" throws at Obama. You will see that these myths are nothing but lies, lies, and more lies. And not only that, but the video proves that the "crazies" were pretty good in editing the "snippets" to TRY to support all of their ignorant claims against Obama. Read the article, Snooker. You won't believe a word of it, but I just want to show you that two can play same game. You are all talk...no substance, and much more ignorant of the truth than I thought!

Dan,

I'm certainly happy that your health care is taken care of and I do believe that serving your country should "earn" something. Still, is the idea that someone doesn't pay a dime for health care a good thing? I look at it this way...if I were given something...let's say a new car, every time I needed it, without paying a dime for it, would I take care of it as well as I would if I were to have to pay for my cars?

Same holds true for health. I just can't see human nature being that of making sure they take care of their health if it doesn't cost them anything if they eat too much, forego the pain of exercise or chain smoke. It costs me something for my health care (I'm a small business owner) so I eat pretty darn well, work out 6 days a week and don't smoke and drink only rarely. My best friend is on state support and he had four pieces of cake Sunday on his son's birthday, NEVER exercises and enjoys his adult pleasures far too often. Doesn't cost him anything...

Mike, I also get my health care through the VA. While it may not cost any out of pocket for the veteran it often isn't free. If the vet didn't serve during an active conflict he will in some cases not be eligible or will be required to pay a co-pay. Vets with a service connnected disability do not pay anything for their care. Above a certain threshold of income all other vets will pay a co-pay for their care, plus prescriptions. Besides, those of us over 65, our Medicare pays the VA, and the VA picks up the rest except for any co-pay. I recieve different services from two different facilities. Foat Wuth outpatient clinic for primary care, lab, x-ray, vision, etc. I must go to Dallas VA, which is a much larger facility with a hospital for Cardiology, Ear-Nose and throat, etc. I see a very big crowd of people, mostly older men, that don't appear any different than I see in the general population, except mostly quite a bit older. All the car I have received has been focused on prevention more than after care. None of this is free, it is the fulfilling of the contract the citizens of the US made with us the day we entered the service, whether we enlisted or were drafted. To imply any of us would not do everything any civilian would to care for their own health is to accuse us veterans of dereliction of duty, Mike, its very disrespectful and beneath you. That dereliction of duty has never been brought into question, I seem to remember we could be courtmartialed for getting an STD, or even a sunburn, which almost happened to a comrade of mine. It has been universally drilled into the vet, take good care of gummint property, and yer ass belongs to Uncle Sugar. All the care givers I have dealt with stress the importance of prevention.

Forgot about the being courtmarialed for a sunburn bit. Now I would have a co-pay for most pills. I think $8 for a 90 day bottle but they also give you a double strenght pill and a cutter to split it in 2 so it lasts twice as long, 180 days. And I stay fit. The VA is definetly up on the prevent part. About every year they will take $100 out of one of my SS checks. I do get medicare and Georgia pays my part B I think it is.

The only reason I remember it because of an incident i was involved with in 1953. I was a radar operator in an Air Traffic control detachment at Pinecastle AFB, just south of Orlando when we got a new diesel mechanic transfer in straight from Alaska in the late spring of '53. Some of us decided to take him to see Daytona beach for his first time. we had a great time, and Eddie, the diesel mechanic was careful about the sun because he was pale, I mean really pale having just spent the winter in Alaska. So, after spending awhile in the sun in swimming trunks he put his clothes on to keep from getting burned. we had a great week end but Eddie ended up with the tops of both feet burned crisp, red and blistered. he couldn't wear shoes, not even shower clogs. the Capt, wanted to courtmartial him and the only reason he didn't because five of us really stood up for Eddie, and the fact he was our only diesel mechanic. We couldn't operate the Radar without him, otherwise our prick Capt would have railroaded his ass. No one supposed he would get the tops of his feet scorched.

I see you had a prick Capt. In Germany we had a prick 1st Sargeant. He was a newbie to us. We were living in tents in the mountains near Graf in Jan and Feb in the snow at 0 to 30 below. You know how a new leader is. He is going to fix every thing that was ever wrong in the company when we got back to main post. Well he really got PO'd when he found his fiat setting in the 2nd floor hall of the barracks. Side note--never mess with engineers--ley ho heave.

Ignorant of the truth? Sharon the article is the opinion of a third party. The article was written clear back in 2009, shortly after Obama took office. This article does nothing to debunk proven facts that have occured since this article was written. Obama now has a clear record of appointments and policies. Try finding something current, this author probably has an entirely different take on who and what Obama truly is now after seeing what he has done the past 3.75 years.[/quote]

If you have a problem with an article written just a few years ago regarding the truth about Obama, why do you bring up his relationships that happened years and some decades ago, ie: Rev. Wright...This Davis guy, his supposed "communist" mentor? Here is a more up to date debunking article that I am sure you will not agree with, but that's ok with me. It doesn't matter what or who I "link," it isn't relelvant...right, Snooker. Get real!!

Who was accusing a vet of derelection of duty...that's a little bit of a reach RL. While I know many vets, as I too am one, there are some who upon leaving service don't look at themselves a government property any longer. With that said, they do pay co-pays and have put some skin in the game through their service. I say this is a reach because it seems a whole lot easier to infer that I was talking about those supported by the state who have NOT served, do not pay co-pays and have not put "skin in the game" such as the friend I referred to in my post. As such you can know that your inferrence was completely off-base and as such no disrespect was paid to any current or former service man or woman.

It's hilarious to watch this type of reach. So what if Chavez or Castro were running against Obama? Would Snooker (or I) vote for him because it's Obama or he is black??? Give me a break. If someone left of Obama were somehow running against Obama...I'd vote for Obama. This isn't rocket science Sharon. It is plain as day... Snooker and I disagree with Obama's policies and ideology. Because Romney, who is far from perfect in my eyes, is more conservative than Obama...I vote for Romney and won't even give Obama consideration. Simple...no reaching requred!!!

Wow! I miss a couple weeks because of work and I see I only missed politics, not how poorly the Lions are managed...

Can I just say this, Obama was dealt a crappy hand and he played it like a crappy hand...I expect better from our president. The dealer of the crappy hand was the inept president before him, who decided that two wars and a tax cut were prudent...BOZO!

Romney is just more of the same crap we've had for the past 40 years. I'm beginning to miss the good old days of Watergate, not that I was old enough to fully grasp what was going on.

Bottom line is we're leaving our kids an enormus debt and I for one am pissed because I didn't want this for damn sure!

I voted for myself last election and I'm going to do it again...I'm serious!

Vote Chris "C.J." Davis for President

But, to humor you I'll use a well known incident as anecdotal evidence of a even more egregious behavior bu someone you voted for. Shrub, during Viet Nam got appointed to what in Texas was referred to as the Champagne Squadron in the Texas Air National Guard, where he received many tens of thousands of dollars in training, knowing before hand he never intended to use it for his country, then was derelict in his duties to the point of actually being AWOL, all the while collecting pay. while you hold up some worthless fellow that is gaming the system for chump change you voted for the real swindler. BTW, all I speak of was out in the media before you voted for that fraud.

Dan, I certainly appreciate your feeling there and just that alone makes a lot more sense then trying to throw stuff against the wall that isn't true (i.e. Romeny hates women) or is pure speculative (i.e. Romney will raise taxes on the middle class) which are things constantly being said as reasons not to vote for him. To that point I also understand and can respect those who want to vote for Obama because they truly believe in his ideology and share the Keynesian philosophy. I get it.

I only part ways with those who call me a racist, tell me I lack compassion for those in need and that I want to pollute the air. Disagree to my policies and we can discuss as friends. One of the true loves of my life is someone who is as liberal as the day is long and we've had a lot of fun discussions regarding our differences.

Absolutely did vote for the guy you call a swindler knowing all of that. Yet the alternative was someone who would've voted to move the country in a federalist direction MUCH faster than the "swindler"? So what do you do??? Vote for the person you KNOW will be very bad for the country or the person who is a swindler who will not be as bad for the country? I chose the latter and would do so the next time we don't have a "swindler"...last I looked is the case in 2012.

Mike, another example of hypocrisy in the Republican camp. Billy Graham's website always stated that Mormons were a cult, that is until Bishop Willard visited Billy a few days back. Since then the statement has been taken down. I'd love to here the justification for that. The Republican congressman in Tenn that flies the flag of the pro-lifers/anti abortion, got caught with a pregnant mistress. He's also a MD and the mistress was a patient, whom he recorded a conversation with her offering to go from Tenn to Atlanta to get her to abort his child. He's now in a little trouble over his ethics for breaking the law about sex with his patient. Also how about the Arkansas Representative that stated Slavery was a good thing for the African Americans. That's all beside the numbskull in Missouri and his "Legitimate Rape" comments. BTW, I'm planning a little Detroit Tigers celebration, how can I get a "Binder full of women" I wanta have lotsa fun.
