Seahawks, Carroll fined $300K for physical practices

Head coach Pete Carroll and the team were fined a combined $300,000 for practices being too physical, the NFL announced Tuesday. Seattle will be docked the first two days of its 2015 mandatory minicamp and will be permitted one 2 1/2-hour practice on the final day. Seattle's players will be paid for all three days of the camp.

"Seahawks players will be paid for the cancelled practice sessions. The violation was for permitting the club's players to engage in excessive levels of on-field physical contact during the team's 2014 mandatory minicamp for veteran players."
The Seahawks were also fined and lost two OTA practices for a violation of contact rules in 2012.
The latest infraction came to light because of publicly available video of the incident, the person with knowledge of the decision said.
The minicamp this past June was highlighted by a fight between All-Pro cornerback [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and wide receiver [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] that was caught by television cameras.
Seattle also lost a pair of organized team activities during the 2012 offseason due to excessive contact.

Yup... Carroll's take is this: The fine is peanut shells to an elephant compared to the advantage gained by actually preparing his team for physical play by PLAYING PHYSICAL IN PREPARATION. Duck thinks that's stupid. The injuries for the Seahawks will go through the roof. His Fattyboy told him so. Thanks Thor. I'm hoping this helps drop my cred to a 1 in the quacker's eyes...
