I think Goody has to hit him hard or he'll have a real problem with the players union. Four games, which is what a player would get, and a half a mil, which is the biggest fine he can give. It's meaningless anyway. The money might be missed by his great-great grandchildren and if he's serious about addressing his problem he won't be going back to work this year anyway.
I hope they can handle it because despite being a major buffoon, the guy was good at what he did.

The talk is, the higher position you hold, the higher the standard of conduct is to which you will be held.
What do you mean "hope they can handle it"? Let's say he gets "suspended" for a time. What does that even mean when it comes to an owner? Stay away from the facility? It was different with a coach, like Sean Payton. He really had to stay away, and someone else had to do what he did which directly impacted their play on the field. Whatever Jim I. gets, its all pretty much symbolic anyway as far as I'm concerned. But he does lose his license for a year for refusing the breathalyzer I believe. Now he'll hire the driver he should have had that night.
But imagine carrying around that many pill bottles in a briefcase in your car, along with all that cash. This supposedly was a guy who overcame and fixed his past problems I thought? There is more that is going to be coming out about before this is over.

Stay away from everything. Would it be a big deal if Kraft had to completely divorce himself from all Patriot and NFL related activity? If something came up, or even in day to day things, does his sons word carry as much weight as his? With BB? With the other owners? With Goodell? Or is it different because Kraft is a "great" owner? For that matter, if owners are so insignificant, how do you tell the great ones from the shlubs?
Sheesh

His wife filed for divorce last November. He lost, it looks like, 50 pounds since then. Not too hard to figure what happened.

I'm not saying owners are insignificant. I'm just talking about the practical effect of punishment? So he can't even attend a game and sit in his usual seat just to watch?
And you should have used Jerry Jones as an example instead of Kraft. In that case, I can see it that if the owner was gone, the entire Cowboys organization would grind to a halt. lol.

Maybe your owner just shows up on sunday to watch the game with his granddaughter;

They both look like they're having a good time.
Now if I were an NFL owner, I wouldn't be all serious all the time. Like these guys, I'd have to enjoy myself at least occasionally.
I think I would put myself in charge of overseeing the tryouts for the Cheerleading Squad.
Got to make sure the candidates have what it takes, and at least qualify with some minimum standards in order to try out.

Jim Irsay suspended 6 games, fined, banned from tweeting about NFL
Goody hit him hard. Way worse than a player would have gotten for a first offense DUI. But no twitter? That's punishing us, not him.

FLORIO-Floor Sweeper,maybe 160 mil.is chump-change 2U,but see a New Wide Receiver catches the football from the QB,there's beginner courses

I have Wes Welker, Matt Prater, and Dwayne Bowe on my fantasy team. Goodell has been punishing me for a while.

When did you draft? Welker came out of nowhere, but the others have been known about for months.Rick wrote:Goody hit him hard. Way worse than a player would have gotten for a first offense DUI. But no twitter? That's punishing us, not him.

The Nfl should have taken a first round draft pick from this dope head drunk.

I would' argue that Goody could have come down harder, but if he'd punished them on the field for something that happened off it it would be a first.Dmounts wrote:The Nfl should have taken a first round draft pick from this dope head drunk.

Re: Friggin Idiot
If you're interested, you can watch police video of Jim Irsay's DUI arrest here. Somehow the Daily News get their hands on this.
I wonder if it sold them any extra papers? I do suppose there is a segment of our society that gets some kind of thrill when they see the same human failings type of things that happen to them, also happen to the rich and powerful. It makes them think, "Ya, he may be super rich, but he's really no different than me", and that makes them feel a little better about themselves. Tiger Woods come to mind?
