Brian Hoyer
The Browns are expected to pay Brian Hoyer's $250,000 roster bonus this offseason.
It confirms that Hoyer will be back with the Browns next season, likely to compete with a draft pick for the starting job. His recovery from October ACL surgery is reportedly "going well." Barring any setbacks, Hoyer should be ready for the start of training camp.

Don't get excited about Brian Hoyer.. He's a Tommy Maddox type of QB.. Once the rest of the league gets some film on his game, they'll shut him down real quick.Dmounts wrote:The Browns are expected to pay Brian Hoyer's $250,000 roster bonus this offseason.

Like they did with Russell Wilson or Kaupernick? Even the elite QB's in the league can be shut down on many occasions. I don't buy into that "Film on a guy" crap!! Sometimes as a team, nothing clicks or their supporting role players just...suck!!

Re: Brian Hoyer
Brian Hoyer is a ham and egger who has been cut several times, just like Tommy Maddox.. Neither one of those QB's are in the class of Russell Wilson or Colin Kaepernick and never will be. To compare Wilson and Kaepernick to ham and eggers makes no sense and is irrelevant.Randell60 wrote:Steely wrote:Don't get excited about Brian Hoyer.. He's a Tommy Maddox type of QB.. Several times?...LOL..He's played for three teams. The Pats, Steelers and Cards. He backed up Brady (wasn't taking his job for sure) and he came to the Steelers because Big Barn and Leftwich were hurt, and he was Batch's backup. Again, he wasn't signed to take Ben's job. The Cards... he was their 4th QB signed due to injuries, the same year the Steelers no longer needed him to fill a role. His numbers aren't bad anywhere he's played. To list him as a ham and egger makes no sense, and besides, he's watching the SB at home with those other QB's except Wilson. Ben and Brady has won SB's, so are they now ham and eggers? So your comparison makes no sense. We'll see how Wilson plays out come Sunday. Remember, it was an "ham and egger" that QB'd the Ravens first SB win...they have a ham and egger now IMO....LOL At least give the guy a full season as starter and see how he handles it before labeling him as a crap QB...or a ham and egger.

Pettine has already stated that Hoyer, more than likely, will be his starter.

Yes, several times... 3 times is a lot of times to be cut in any sport of any league. 3 times equals "several times." Brian Hoyer won't make it in Cleveland or anywhere else in the league. You'll see next year...Randell60 wrote:Steely wrote:Brian Hoyer is a ham and egger who has been cut several times, just like Tommy Maddox.. ...or maybe, you'll see. If you're right, I'll admit it on here. Will you if I'm right? Besides, name one QB the Browns have had since they came back who was successful. Of course everyone's going to have to learn a whole new offensive system...AGAIN!!! so who knows!!
