George, I was just wondering
what kind of special supplements the Colts were feeding their players back when they were putting up double digit win seasons?

Mark Schlereth didn't play the OL at the size he is now. He lost the weight and kept it off for all these years.
A lot of lineman tend to stay the same or even ballon further up. Kudos to those who took weight off.
It's hard as hell to diet. I know, there are times when my stomach thinks my throat was slit.
BRB....someone's at the door.

Yep. Then he went to college in North Carolina and lived there for a year after. Selling electrical supplies, I think.LRJets wrote:Saturday was born in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] He attended Shamrock High School in [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], in 1993.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Since then it's been Carmel Indiana.
I was born on Prince Edward Island. If I'd stayed I'd probably be short and frail like most easteners. It was 7 years in Indiana that made me six and a half feet tall.

George...another three years there, and you'd have been fast-breaking it to Reggie Miller.

LOL! Maybe, but if I'd stayed I think my life might have turned out a little steel milly. If I was lucky.LRJets wrote:It was 7 years in Indiana that made me six and a half feet tall.

LOL. In the 2 pictures of Jeff there is at least a 50 lb. difference. In the 2 pictures of Tom (the Patriot who usually wins the prefered parking space at Gilette for being the hardest, most dedicated worker in preseaon workouts), maybe 15 lbs. You know I'm just kidding around. But, like I always try to tell you G., don't hate, appreciate.

Not sure of the message being conveyed by the above pic. Is that a buddy of yours from S.C. who happens to have a partially concealed dangerous weapon tucked in his pants? Really not sure of the "midwest" connection here, if one was intended.
Come on now, you gotta admit that when you gave us your "midwestern strong" song and dance, and I came back with the John Dillinger, gangster, born in Indianapolis, died in Chicago, Wanted Poster, it was a stroke of sheer comedic brilliance on my part. Come on. Get over your reluctance. Give it up for me. That was like taking one to the house. Then faking the point after, converting for 2, and making it look easy in the process.

Re: George, I was just wondering
I read the other day that Jeff Saturday is down 65 lbs.!!
Good thing his hair is dark, or I'd confuse him with John Clayton.
Actually he looks great.
Not sure if you'd remeber a player named Joe Don Looney. Probably a bit before George's time. Played for Oklahoma. His father was Don Looney, a referee in college. Joe Don Looney was a real "looney".
He was All-American at Oklahoma and drafted by the Giants. Unremarkable pro-career because he was a head case.
Anyway, he had the rare combination of being built like an oak tree with speed like the wind.
When he left the Giants, he dropped half his body weight it seemed. Last heard from was that he went to India to study under some of those Indian priests and he worked herding elephants as well. True story!

Re: George, I was just wondering
After posting from my head my memory of Joe Don Looney, I Googled him. He got kicked off the Oklahoma team for punching a coach; went to three colleges in four years, played for the Giants, studied eastern religion, and found peace in west Texas where he died at the age of 45.
He was described as a cross between Jim Brown and Gale Sayers.
The saddest life is a wasted life.

I guess he was one of those whose motto was, "Its better to burn out than fade away." Good looking guy. What a shame.

It was minorly clever. I'll give it a six.

I'm surprised you don't recognize him. Maybe these pics will jog your memory;

Of course it's Fort Wayne native, and great American, Bernard Pollard.

Gun laws are tough in Maryland. About all you can carry for self defense is a boomerang and a whistle and they're working to ban those.

OK, now I'll give you your props.
In light of my underrated six, I'll give you a FIVE on the cleverness index...
...only because of the evil symmetry you displayed.
I posted an infamous midwestern criminal, John Dillinger.
And then you responded by posting a bigger and more infamous midwestern criminal.
Symmetry.

I knew this would come up eventually. Rightfully so. Let the record show that I am forever grateful to the state of Indiana for one Larry Legend, who gave this Boston boy many a sportsgasm.

I had Larry Bird shoes in the early '80s. Converse had a whole collection endorsed by all the big names in their team colors.
Some of them were pretty flashy. I was a black and white kinda guy.
