One Year Anniversary Empty Re: One Year Anniversary

Post by ~Sheila~ Tue Apr 15, 2014 8:14 pm

Just watched a "Boston Strong" special on ESPN.  So many lives disrupted, so many still struggling today trying to be 'normal' again.  My heart goes out to all.

There is a couple being married on April 17th at Fenway Park, his goal, to walk without his crutches or using his wheelchair....

God Bless.

I still can't get past the pointlessness of what the bombers did.  How does it advance ANY ideology to target and kill random children who have nothing to do with anything the terrorists are possibly riled up about?  How does such an indiscriminate, cowardly and evil act possibly help, promote, bring attention to, or whatever, your "cause"?  Making ANY sense of it is not possible for me.

If the terrorists' goal is that by hurting a few people to make the rest of us hurt, disrupt our society, make us live in fear, etc., what they did actually has had the OPPOSITE effect.  It has brought people together and makes the sense of community, not  only in Boston, but all across America, only stronger.  Beyond hurting a few innocent people, whatever their larger goal is, they totally failed at accomplishing it.  I wonder if in their twisted minds they get that?

I don't feel that we can ever enter the mind of a terrorist to ever understand what and why they do what they do.  :/
