Thank you.
Fun factoid. Geno Smith, in the 43 years of Monday Night Football, is only the second rookie to win on the road. The other?
Dan Marino.
Hope we found our franchise quarterback.

Starting to believe he can play with the big boys we shall see in the coming weeks. I think Jets can beat Pitts maybe NE,. Saints come marching into NJ, I have the Saints and Denver in the Superbowl playing at Metlife in 2014. I like to see denver win but Saints has the better defense as well as a great offense.

We'll see. They have surprised me so far. I didn't think that they would win more than 3-4 games the whole season.IrishJets1129 wrote:Starting to believe he can play with the big boys we shall see in the coming weeks. I have a factoid for your Sheila. In the 1983 draft, the Jets, Patriots and Dolphins all picked quarterbacks in the first round. The Pats went first, the Jets followed, and the Dolphins went third.
With the 15th pick, the Patriots chose the immortal Tony Eason.
With the 24th pick, the Jets chose Ken O'Brien, who actually had an OK career, but not exactly Hall of Fame worthy.
With the 27th pick, who do you think the Dolphins picked who was passed over by both New England and New York?
Answer: Dan Marino.

"The draft is a crap shoot."
-Rags2010
And he's right!!
Probably the first three or maybe four picks should be "sure things", after that there have been so many who didn't live up to their expectations all the way to beings busts. I've seen it on many teams, Jets have had their share and then some.

Wasn't Jim Kelly and Boomer Esiason in the same drafts? if they were didn't they get picks before the Jets pick or after? I would rather had Kelly over Marino. Marino only went to one SB, and lost lol Kelly have gotten to 4 SB, but lost all 4. Boomer even got to a SB, but lost to the 49ers but was a close game.

Yes, Jim Kelly was in that draft, but he was taken by Buffalo who picked ahead of NE, NY and Miami, so he was gone when we all picked.
Boomer was drafted the following year.

Re: Nice win last night...
Your right I just look it up Boomer Esiason was drafted in 1984 and not only that Jets picks before Cinn and took a C, over Boomer. Make mather worse Jets took WR, Al Toon over Jerry Rice in 1985 drafts. 1983 Class Rd's 1 1st pick, John Elway Balt, picks 7 Todd Blackledge KC, Picks 14 Jim Kelly Buffalo, pick 15 Tony Eason NE, picks 24 QB, Ken O'Brian Jets, and picks 27 Dan Marino.
