That's why I moved to South Carolina and not North.

He should be in for life, not 20 years! A fetus is more than viable at 8 months old, he should have been charged with two counts of murder.

The baby lived Sheila. He has cerebral palsy, but he's an otherwise healthy, happy kid living up in Charlotte with his grandmother.
Carruth did get convicted of a crime against the baby btw.
Using an instrument to destroy an unborn child.
He was sentenced on the 28th anniversary of the Roe v Wade decision.

I'm only really familiar with the Charleston area as my oldest brother attended The Citadel and I have a friend who I grew up with who owns a pub on Daniels Island.
