Hold on to your hats, folks.

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly interested in trading for New York Jets star cornerback Darrelle Revis, according to Jason Cole of Yahoo! Sports.

After the reported trade that will send quarterback Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs for a second-round pick in 2013 and a conditional mid-round pick in 2014 (per ESPN), the 49ers will have 15 draft picks in the 2013 draft alone.

Jimmy Kempski of BloggingTheBeast.com broke it down:

That gives San Francisco significant ammunition to potentially land Revis, whom many consider to be the best cornerback in football.

It makes sense for both the 49ers and the Jets.

Who would be the biggest winner in this potential trade?
The 49ers
The Jets
Revis

The 49ers' secondary was exposed against Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII. In particular, young corner Chris Culliver struggled immensely. Also, veteran Carlos Rogers is not the same player he was in 2011 with the 49ers and free safety Dashon Goldson could walk in free agency.

San Francisco had one of the best defenses in football in 2012, but it was apparent after the Super Bowl that a lot of that was due to a fantastic front seven.

From the Jets' standpoint, they could land numerous draft picks in a deal for Revis, potentially including No. 31 overall and/or No. 34 overall in the 2013 draft.

No team wants to lose a player of Revis' caliber, but the Jets may have to, seeing as how they are in a state of disarray right now. They also may have tipped their hand a bit when a report surfaced this week that they had shopped Revis at the NFL combine in Indy.

The Jets finished 6-10 in 2012 after finishing 8-8 in 2011, missing out on the playoffs both seasons.

It was expected it would take a lot to land Revis. The thing is, the 49ers have a lot to offer.

Where do we Submit Vote to see the results? I hope Jets can get this deal done. Two in the 1st Rd's and two in the top early Rd's in the 2nd Rd's maybe other picks as well. Jets could land 4 top players that can come in and start right away.
