Jimmy is a Steelers fan and now he's going to be a Brown's fan. Can someone explain how that is possible? Smile The final decision will be made in a few weeks to a month and 1/2. Cleveland is now probably going to get their football program going in the right direction.

How about a football team that has had only one winning season in the past nine, hasn't made the playoffs in those nine seasons (when it had a combined record of 47-97) and fired three coaches – Butch Davis, Romeo Crennel and Eric Mangini – over that span?

The Cleveland Browns have been sold by Randy Lerner to Jimmy Haslam, and ESPN is reporting the price tag: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

NFL owners are expected to approve the sale at their October meeting.

Haslam is president and CEO of Pilot Flying J, the largest operator of travel centers and travel plazas in North America with more than 550 retail locations. He is the brother of Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam.

The Browns have been owned by the Lerner family since 1999, when the franchise was resurrected after the original team moved to Baltimore.

According to reports, Haslam will take over controlling interest of the Browns for roughly $700 million. Then pay $300 million later to complete the deal.
