Steelers may open up against Peyton
Will Steelers open season on Sunday
By Jamison Hensley
There are rumblings that the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] will open the regular season at the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] on Sunday Night Football.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The Broncos have received word that they will kick off the season in prime time on Sunday, according to the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], which suggests the Steelers are the best bet to be the opponent. There are other candidates, but The Post speculates the NFL wouldn't want a prime-time game involving the scandal-ridden Saints, or put the Broncos on the road at New England.
It would make sense scheduling the Steelers at the Broncos, which is a rematch of last season's divisional playoff game.
The news has already circulated to Steelers safety [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], who sat out the playoff game because the high altitude can affect his blood condition. "Hearing Steelers @ Broncos could be 1st Sunday night game of the season," Clark posted [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. "If that happens, guess I'll wait for week 2."
This probably won't get confirmed for another month. The full NFL schedule is typically released a week before the draft.

The time has come that the Steelers really need to get someone to replace Clark. I'm sick and tired everytime we go to Denver that we have to play one hand tied behind our backs because a guy (who has already been cleared by doctors) refuses to play because of something that happened to him several years ago that simply would not have one effect on him anymore.

UMM... Die... the guy hasn't "chose" not to play.... he's been benched by his coach.... who acted after consulting with team physicians. he damn near died as result of playing a game there. It isn't like he has much choice in the matter.DiehardSteelersfan wrote:leejr wrote:Will Steelers open season on Sunday

Yea...they removed his spleen and because of that he is no longer in danger. The doctors have cleared him to now play in Denver but he's just too scared to play. Sorry to inform him that it is his job if he is healthy to be out on that field and do everything in his power to do his job.

MANNING VS MANNING
I would love to see the Giants and Bronco's open up the season against each other or better yet that matchup on the first Monday night game, but that will have to wait until 2013 because Peyton will be lucky to play in the last game of the year, he isnt ready to play football at all in 2012.leejr wrote:Will Steelers open season on Sunday
