I wish Beebs wouldn't put his hand on The Cup, but I'm sure they will wipe it clean.

The Cup is missing from my picture below taken a few days ago in left field, as there is only one Cup.

Three Lombardis are not in my picture either, but believe me, they were there being held by Troy Brown, Ty Law and Tedy Bruschi.  (TB12 was too humble, so he just stayed in his seat in the stands and let the others have the spotlight.  Tommy is just wonderful.   )  

Probably the camera view was not wide enough to get all the trophies in the same shot.

But in order for the picture to be complete.......We want The Cup back.

At least Mayor Menino is finally retiring (that's him in the golf cart), and we won't get to hear him mispronounce athletes names anymore.  His best was that he loved it when "Varitek split the uprights" to seal the Pats first superbowl win.  lol.    The year the Celtics won he had all kinds of praise for the heart of the team, "KJ" and "Hondo".   And I know it really broke him up when "Wes Weckler" left the Pats for the Broncos.

The Stanley Cup is the best. Like Gup said, there's only one. Your kid can get his picture taken with a Lombardi trophy, or the Stanley Cup.

Even though I will never have the experience, I will say its one thing to have your picture taken with The Cup, but its a whole nuther ballgame to actually drink a cold sparkling adult beverage from it.   


I mean, fans don't dress as the Vince Lombardi or the Larry O'Brien trophy.  Think about that.
