Browns looking @ Matt Schaub
Veteran quarterback Matt Schaub isn’t out of Houston just yet, but if he is released, the Browns are “seriously” looking to snatch him up, reports [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
According to the report, Schaub would be a good fit with the Brown because he would reunite with his former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.Schaub, a two-time Pro Bowler, saw his 2013 season go south as he only threw 10 touchdowns to go with 14 interceptions. He eventually lost his starting job to Case Keenum after four straight games with a pick-six.

Schaub would be nothing but a backup to Hoyer.

On Wednesday afternoon, the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] cut two of their quarterbacks on the roster in Brandon Weeden and Jason Campbell, leaving some room open on the roster for an experienced, free agent veteran. According to Ian Rapoport, one of those targets to fill that void could indeed be Matt Schaub.
As it stands right now after the moves on Wednesday, Brian Hoyer is the man in charge, by default. It’s been rumored for a while that one of the quarterbacks coming out in the draft this May could be taken by the team with their fourth overall pick, but it would be beneficial to have someone experienced on the roster to aid in the development of whomever they select.
Schaub would fit that bill rather perfectly, and as Rapoport says, now seems like the likely candidate to wind up as the new savior in Cleveland.

As long as Schaub comes cheap, because he is in no way better the Hoyer.

Re: Browns looking @ Matt Schaub
Raiders trade away six round pick for Schaub.
The Raiders will give Schaub a shot to start with no competition, something that might not have been readily available elsewhere. The Browns had some interest, but didn’t appear willing to part with anything to get him.

There is not one proven winner of a QB that would WANT to come to Cleveland. And no-one with any football knowledge could blame them. Money means a lot in today's NFL.... but competitors want at least a chance of winning- that isn't gonna happen on the Browns for an extended time. They are on what number of rebuild?? I don't have to make fun of that organization... they do a fine enough job on their own.Steely wrote:LOL! Too funny how Wyckedfart thinks Hoyer is a good QB. Compared to any QB that has worn a Browns uniform in the last 10 years.... YES.... he's a winner. And then there is this: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]Dmounts wrote:LOL @ foghorn you call this guy a winner?

And all you want to do is insult Steeler fans. You have little knowledge, but a lot of opinion... yet never fail to show us that. Fact is: the Browns have sucked majorly since they have re-entered the league. They have had MORE starting QBs that ANY other NFL team and have got nothing for thier efforts. But you want to spout off of all you know of how bad the Steelers are gonna be. How stupid and dumb their fans are. Seems to me you should drink a giant glass of shut the fuck up before someone throws you outta the bar so the adults can talk..Dmounts wrote:LMAO so you want to add to that list just like a freaking squeeler fan.
