Sucks Big Fat Ass
Does this D ever stop anybody? Gave up a 30-14 lead. Did I tell you guys that Capers sucks....Oh yeah, I did.
Ok, Rodgers had a couple uncharacteristic picks, but one drive by the Bengals was 95 yards after a pick. In only 7 plays.
As for that O-line.....only saw a handful of plays, but I noticed them pushing our line back towards Rodgers.....no real place to step up.....did anyone else see that? Did I ever tell you guys that Campen sucks too?
And Barclay/Bahktiari killed us the last two plays, allowing their guys to jump up and block passes.....we used to be taught if someone jumps like that, you make them pay.
Barclay just stood there and Bahktiai missed his cut block.
It also appeared the Bengals were waiting for that short stuff, they blocked several other passes today. It didn't help that Finley and all our runners were hurt.
To paraphrase George Allen, "each rookie that starts, will cost you a least one game, maybe two, during the course of a season."
And what was AR/MM jawing about on the sidelines?

FF.......don't fret.......just another bizarre societal aberration. Only this time it happened on the Packers sideline and up in the booth. Lick wounds and get ready for the revved up Lions. Did Suh get suspended yet LOL LOL.

I hear you, FF. I'm not a fan of Capers either but at that point in the game I was thinking our defense was playing great. We had four takeaways and the Bengals didn't do anything after their initial drive. I still can't figure out WTF happened.

They were well coached and had a good game plan. They knew our tendencies. You could see that they were all over that short pass to Cobb.
To paraphrase George Allen, "each rookie that starts, will cost you a least one game, maybe two, during the course of a season."
George Allen never had to deal with the salary cap. ALL teams have to use young players much more than ever before.

I thought MM was pissed that Rodgers didn't go out of bounds and exposed himself to a needless hit. He could have gotten another concussion on that play.

ffaralli, sorry man, but this one goes on the Offense. Bengals have the legit talent to score on anyone and were playing at home. They were going to get theirs. The D forced turnovers, hit the QB, and had multiple, critical stops---much of it without Clay Mathews.
Rodgers, McCarthy, Jones, the OL, and that human clusterfuck Ross all deserve time behind the woodshed before any defender.

Re: Sucks Big Fat Ass
No, Rodgers was pissed about the play call. That goddamn fucktard Ross was the primary (and only) receiver and he didn't break down field towards the end zone -he just ran a parallel route to the line of scrimmage which forced Rodgers to keep it and...well, you saw what happened.
It WAS a stupid call.
Who'd of thunk we'd miss Tom Crabtree so bad?

4th and inches and they do the famous kuhn call and get stuffed, why not spread it out and have the defense loosen up? but not mcfatty,he had 10 minutes to think of a play as the spot was being reviewed and this is what he comes up with.

Re: Sucks Big Fat Ass
An absolute disaster. Seems like whatever MM calls it totally backfires. With no FB and all he has left is a 190lb skinny back trying to plunge behind the seven blocks of silly putty it means only the worst can happen. Crosby probably misses in crunch time. Best bet might have been an ARod fake and bootleg like he did against the Bears in the 2010 championship. If Urlacher bit on it so would the Bengals. Worst case scenario he is stopped and they get the ball on the 30. Better yet, punt with Masthay putting it around the 8. Let the defense lose it with class rather than just handing them the game.JnC4GB wrote:I wholeheartedly agree.throttleplate wrote:4th and inches and they do the famous kuhn call and get stuffed, why not spread it out and have the defense loosen up? but not mcfatty,he had 10 minutes to think of a play as the spot was being reviewed and this is what he comes up with.

We had a chance to get Curley from the Jets. Too short to be an effective receiver but a reliable kick returner.duck wrote:JnC4GB wrote:ffaralli, sorry man, but this one goes on the Offense. So true, JnC. With 4 turnovers, a missed Bengal FG, and a blocked extra point you would think we should win the game. But we get 3 FGs and some 3 and outs.JnC4GB wrote:ffaralli, sorry man, but this one goes on the Offense. Bengals have the legit talent to score on anyone and were playing at home. Add on to that a 30-14 lead and we get 2 personal foul penalties. This is where a coach has got to instill discipline. ARod trying to win it all himself with his cast of characters missing. Sometimes you have to dial it down when the weapons are not there. Winning ugly is OK. And that O-line. Rodgers could not afford any 7 step drops or he'd be on his back 10 more times. All he could do is two steps and quick hitters.

If you can count on two things from the Packers, it's them shitting themselves in close games and MM going full retard on 3rd (and 4th)-and-1. I mean, yeah, go for it, but why the fuck are you asking your offensive line, who hasn't pushed anyone off the ball in 10 years, to do so in that spot, much less with little Johnathan Franklin and no lead blocker? Behind Evan Dietrich-Smith, no less? I mean, does he actually try to find the most ineffective play in the playbook for these situations? He's so busy trying to be the guru who outsmarts everyone that all common sense just abandons him.JnC4GB wrote:ffaralli, sorry man, but this one goes on the Offense. Rodgers' Achilles heel is greed. Really, the best game plan for him is to play Tampa 2, give him the soft middle underneath (that team after team bludgeons us to death with), and watch him kill himself trying to force 15-yard pass after 15-yard pass. And, of course MM will happily oblige by calling play after play where the first three reads are 15-yard routes. To have gotten only 9 points off those 3 turnovers in the first half (excluding the one where the defense just ran it in themselves) was inexcusable. With smart play, the Packers could have blown the game open by halftime a la Atlanta in the 2010 playoffs.
That said, Rodgers sucked yesterday. Although he had help, he was a main culprit for the loss. His worst game in at least 4 years, if not in his career.
Jeremy Ross should have been cut the minute the plane from San Francisco landed 2 weeks ago. Actually, there was no reason to keep him on the roster to begin with. A kickoff return specialist? Who does that anymore? Another MM mistake in a growing list of them.
The defense had lapses yesterday, but they did everything that could have realistically been expected of them. Sam Shields and Raji should be signed to extensions over the bye week.
Your O-line looked great yesterday, Duck! Boy, they sure handled their shit in a big way. You can see the progress!
Fuck it... at least they didn't pull any more hammys yesterday

You must have been a joy to have around the house yesterday, MB. How does your wife handle it when you go into full Bergamo mode?
Regarding our O-Line, I stand by my assessment. They are hardly an elite group but they're not crap like many people are suggesting. It's impossible to have a top 5 offense with a shitty offensive line. Yesterday, even with a QB who wasn't himself, our offense churned out 27 first downs, had virtually 400 total yards, almost 200 on the ground, and let a rookie run for over 100 yards in one half in his debut performance. You have to look at the whole picture.

Good Lord. You're right!
Speaking of Charles, he made a couple of nice tackles last night but also got burned in coverage a few times. I think the Packers unloaded him just in time. One year earlier might have been even better.
