But they still have to try and get Hillis to add his name to the roster and taking a chunk from that so called pot of gold. The NFL salary cap for 2012 has been set at $120.6 million, an increase of $225,000 from last year’s figure, the league announced today.

The Browns are $17.4 million under the cap, according to ProFootballTalk.com. All teams must be in compliance with the cap by the time free agency begins at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
