Great draft Empty Great draft

I like the fact that we moved up to get the 29th pick. Some people are comparing this to the H.Walker trade. Are you kidding? We just selected three first round draft picks, we didn't give away three. Love the picks. All were projected studs and two of them should have gone earlier yet they fell to us. I think we should sign Urlacher to a one year deal and roll the dice. I'm a happy fan right now. Young team that will only get better. New u-nees, new stadium, new young talent. Look out NFC North!

Agreed JJ. Smart moves by the Vikes to get three 1st rounders and fill some huge needs, especially at corner and replacing Harvin.
As to Urlacher, not so sure unless he could be had on the cheap (likely). High mileage and injurys but I suspect he would be a world beater at least twice a year as he is pissed big time about the Bears.

How are ya GB? It's that time of year again and I hope to see more of the former AOL message boarders jump in here more often. I only suggest Urlacher because he has hinted that he would take less money as he really wants to prove he has the desire to and is healthy enough to play at least one more season. He thought there would be 10 teams lining up for his services after the Bears parted ways and he was sorely mistaken. I agree with you and think if he was healthy he would be "pissed" and come back with an "I have something to prove" attitude. I also believe that the Vikings, although still rebuilding, are finally doing things the way an organization should be doing to compete for a Superbowl. Hard to believe that just came out of my mouth but they're drafting the right guys and hitting home runs with many of their picks which is easier said than done. It makes it a bit easier when you get to draft a few "can't miss" prospects, some that somehow manage to fall into your lap later in the draft! Spielman has done a good job after being handed the reigns as GM. Hopefully we find a fourth round sleeper at linebacker today. If not I think an old Urlacher is better than another year of some clueless scrub. His experience alone would be invaluable.

Hey JJ--I'm stoked about the draft as we filled some deep needs. Was bummed to see Winfield leave but he does have age/injuries against him. Picking up Rhodes is a real +. To add Patterson is HUGE as Ponder will now have him and Jennings to throw to. Hoping that Ponder will improve and the addition of these two could make the difference.
As you, hope some other board fans will start to join in here. What happened to Thor?

I couldn't agree more about the draft. I think the vikings made some really good picks, but, as always time will tell. I think the Vikings will still sign FA linebacker. It's going to be interesting.
