Many questions remain in the wake of Friday's announcement by the NFL [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the past three seasons, but perhaps the biggest issue is how heavy Commissioner Roger [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] on the team, coaches, executives and players involved.
According to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], citing sources, the league will announce the punishment by the annual owners meetings that start March 26 and perhaps sooner.

The guilty parties face fines, suspensions and forfeiture of multiple drafts picks for conducting a system in which defensive players earned cash rewards for injuring opponents.

The NFL's actions may not end with the Saints, either.

Gregg Williams was the Saints defensive coordinator who administered the program and held the same position with the Washington Redskins from 2004 to '07. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] have said Williams operated a similar bounty activity in D.C., and now the NFL will open an investigation on that front as well, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], citing a league source.

I think that the NFL just might have opened a can of worms here. If they think that the Saints are the only team to do this they have a rude wakening.

The question is always the same. How will Goodell handle the punishment? He's been very inconsistent with the way he's handled these situations in the past. The last time a coach was involved in a player getting injured was when a Jets coach stuck his knee out and took down a Fins player two years ago. For that one the team wasn't held responsible and only the lowly ST assistant took the hit.

Well Rags, what about the unholy precious ones out of GB? Didn't they openly admit, and, right on national television that they had put a team bounty on Adrian Petersons knee a couple seasons ago? And didn't CB "Al Harris" run all the way across the field, hitting Adrian from the blindside with a cheap shot to the knee, to win the pot ( $35,000 )? Oh yeah, and then "later retract that". LMFAO
IMO I don't think Goodell has much to say, he's just as guilty for rigging game outcomes via Ref.s turning the blind eye.
