McCarthy says Cobb will test injury on Friday

.

Green Bay - Here is a summary of coach Mike McCarthy's post-practice press conference Wednesday preceded by the injury report:

INJURY REPORT

  • WR Jordy Nelson - hamstring - full
  • RB Alex Green - concussion - full
  • DE C.J. Wilson - knee - limited
  • WR Randall Cobb - ankle / knee - limited
  • K Mason Crosby - illness - DNP
  • OG Josh Sitton - concussion - DNP
  • S Charles Woodson - collarbone - out

MCCARTHY

  • Jordy Nelson looked good returning to practice. I would think there's always adjustments. Have to be smart with him.
  • Woodson decision based on doctors report. Targeted Minnesota, but not ready. I know he's disappointed.
  • Sitton is going through protocol and hoping he'll be cleared through tomorrow.
  • Winfield one of my favorite players on the team. Had great respect for his game. Outstanding tackler. Plays with anticipation.
  • I think we'll put some players on the inactive list gameday who aren't injured, Haven't had to make those decisions.
  • Practice has been altered. Cut practice today. Tomorrow have a full-padded practice.
  • C.J. Wilson will be a big day for him on Thursday. Needs to go through pads tomorrow. Done everything he can to get back.
  • Cobb will be limited today and tomorrow and then Friday will test to see how he's doing. In addition to ankle injury, his knee is hurt, too.
  • Crosby has flu-like symptoms. Anytime we have that, we send them home.
  • Impressed with the Vikings. Ponder will do well in play-action. Going to be tough in that environment indoors.
  • We'll utilize all three backs because when game-planning didn't know whether Green's able to play.
  • Grant definitely is in the coach's minds when game-planning. Anytime you have a hot player you're aware of it and you take advantage of it.
  • Pro Bowl, they have to do something about that. Had a chance to coach in it. Definitely an issue. Don't know what the options are. No comparison between coaching it last year and coaching it in '08 after the '07 season.

Crosby..flu like symptoms...Comes with hitting uprights.

Just as long as he can kick off. We'll be going for a lot of 4th downs.
