It was a gutsy call and it was the right time to try it. There was enough time to get back down there and we did and won the game. I would have been bitching about it if we lost the game.

I just went back and watched it again earlier today and the only reason why Susium didn't make it was because Miller blocked the wrong guy.

It was a terrible call, IMO...plain and simple. They are lucky it didn't cost them the game. If a team goes shotgun on third and one, with an empty backfield, I still think it's a bad approach when they throw for the first down. The whole 'if the fake field goal worked it would have been a great call' argument doesn't hold water with me. Tomlin has mad some terrible, irrational situational calls this year thus far.

I disagree. We were down by only 1 touchdown. Tomlin believed that the defense would be able to hold them and they did. With the way we were running the ball and the way our special teams were playing, it was worth the gamble. If Miller blocks the correct guy Suisum gets at least the first down and possible a touchdown. This was a play that the Steelers' have been practicing for the last 5-years. It wasn't just a desperation play, it was calculated but it failed. As far as Tomlin goes, you've let Mummy use a Jedi-mind trick on you. The guy is not a bad coach.

Why does it matter to the argument...so, they outsmarted Tomlin'...?...it was a terrible call... They should have ran redman for the first down or kicked the field goal...they took points off the board for a gimmick play...took the ball out of Ben and Red's hands...it was stupid.
