The NFL has extended the trade deadline to 4 pm. ET on Thursday due to Hurricane Sandy, the league announced Monday.
The original trade deadline was Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET, but the league office in New York was closed Monday, and many East coast teams had closed their offices as well. That made it difficult for teams to do the necessary paperwork if any trades were completed. Therefore, the league decided that moving the deadline back until Thursday would be the best alternative.
