Jets First Half V. Giants
The offense does not have a playmaker (Holmes withstanding). 10-13 for 78 yards won't do it.
If they don't cut Hunter , Tanny should get cut. For the umpteenth time, why they didn't address the need for a tackle is mind boggling.
Hoping the second half is better. C'mon reward the D with something.

To insist that Hunter is your guy at RT after that effort, shows that the Jets have issues all through the organization. All in all a pretty disgraceful performance by the Jets offense all game. The D is playing OK, but not well enough to overcome the total ineptness and apathy (3 shanked punts, dropped pass by Baker with no one near him) of the offense. Tebow showed why he can't be a starting QB. Once the Jets fell behind by double digits late in the game, he did not have what it takes (a passing game) to bring a team from far behind late in the game when passing is what you have to do. The Giants were teeing off on him, even with their second team D. The only saving grace for the Jets is the schedule. There are a lot of winable games, but not if they play like tonight. Pluses: Coples (again), Cumberland, Hill, Allen.

In the second half you saw some random good plays on defense by 2nd and 3rd stringers. I'd rather see it consistently by less players, but repeatedly so. DeVito looked good in the first half, however; as Kurt Warner said......in the NFL you have to move the ball and score early. Catch-up ball is not their strong suit.
I wish Sanchez and Ryan would stop with the "whistling in the dark" pollyanna attitude. The Jets are worse this very moment than the pre-season before Ryan and Sanchez' rookie year.
Every year I hope this is the year. Wrong once again!

Just a thought-
If falling behind by double digits at ANY point of any game is a regular occurance, Tebow's iffy QB skills are the least of your worries.

Worry? Not at all. We have the human turnstile at tackle.

Yes, if it's a regular occurence, then you have a bad team and it doesn't matter. But sometimes you may have a good defensive team with a lousy offense (sound like a team we know?) that can occassionally fall behind by 10 or more points in the 4th quarter. A QB who can throw can bring a team back from such a deficit. If you going to have a championship team, you have to be able to do that. That was my biggest complaint with Pennington. He didn't have a big enough arm to mount a sustained passing attack which is what you have to do to come back late in a game. Ground and pound ain't going to cut it in those situations.

It's the Jets same old flaws.
No pass protection
No pass rush
And let's not forget it's not a Jet game without an INT TD.

He's worse. Even turnstiles get stuck once in awhile.

I think Hunter is the answer.......I can't remember the question, however. Maybe it was "What shade of green are the Jets' uniforms?"

Re: Jets First Half V. Giants
At his press conference today, Rex wouldn't commit to Hunter starting week 1. They need to go with someone else. Either see what this Howard guy can do or sacrifice a pick to trade for a capable RT. An average starter would be a huge upgrade at this point.

I've decided to make a positive out of Hunter. For every sack he gives up, I do an extra 15 minutes on the elliptical at the Y the following week. My legs are getting stronger by the sack!
