The Steelers cut one player, signed another and named a new public-address announcer for games at Heinz Field.

Cornerback Andre Freeman, a rookie from Slippery Rock, signed a contract with the Steelers, who released first-year tackle Trevis Turner.

Steelers president Art Rooney II also announced today that Larry Richert of KDKA-AM will serve as the public-address announcer at Heinz Field. Randy Cosgrove recently resigned from that position
