Question - so this is the play that the coach called, couldn't the players say no, or it doesn't work that way?

Maybe they saw it was there. Decent reciever on a rookie backup, big size difference, 2nd down, everyone expecting run. It was a good call. IF IT WAS THE SECOND QUARTER!!!!

The Patriots would have done it. But Brady and Gronk are MUCH better than Wilson and Lockett so, yes, pretty dumb. Don't minimize the fantastic play by Butler though. Just great. Ballsy too considering he had just given up the long play that got the Hawks down there.

20 halfback curl x-up. Montana to Taylor in Super Bowl XXIII. Considered one of the greatest calls in SB history. Pretty close to the same situation. The difference? It worked.
That happens a lot.
If Lockett had come away with that ball, which he very well might have if he'd tried even a little, Butler jumping the route would have been moronic instead of brilliant.
I've changed my mind. Decent call, poor execution.

I believe it was directed at Revis who was covering him on that play and for most of the day. The guy's stats were he caught one pass all day for three yards -- and that one completion was because Revis got picked off in the end zone by the ref.

Then he takes a dump.

To me, very odd. I didn't get the meaning, except possibly that he was saying, "I just shit on Darrelle Revis." But who knows? Never seen that move before.
