Steelers announce preseason schedule

The Steelers will open their exhibition season at Philadelphia and then return to play at home against the Indianapolis Colts Aug. 19 in a nationally televised game on NBC-TV's Sunday night football at 8.

Other specific dates have not been determined but their game at Philadelphia will be in the first week, Aug. 8-12. Their final two games will be played in the third week at Buffalo and wrap up with a game against Carolina at Heinz Field in the fourth week of the preseason.

The game against the Colts will be the first preseason matchup between the teams since they played in Mexico City in 2000. It will carry some extra intrigue because the Colts are expected to draft quarterback Andrew Luck with the first pick, and hired former Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

The other three games not broadcast nationally will be carried by KDKA-TV.
