Of course. Because, as we all know, anything any Patriot ever does is the "est" ever.

Thats why they call us "fans". Short for "fanatics".
You didn't like the player's effort? It wasn't fun to watch? Just your average non-descript, run of the mill, see it any day of the week, 1 yard run, huh?
Myself, I like to give credit where credit is due.

Yea, It was a heck of an effort, but down by 10, on the team with the most fumbles lost in the league, on first down, he might have wanted to go down after about the fifth hit.guppy wrote:You got it bro.George1963 wrote:

I know, I know, he scored. And if they had made it, fourth and two against the Colts would still have been a bad move.

Isn't funny sometimes how the better teams seem to struggle with the not so good teams? It's like they should go in and just win hands down and yet, they don't. I'm speaking in general about all teams.

Exact same facts, but if it was Belichick instead of Tomlin, would BB's fine have been:LRJets wrote:[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

So you think, unlike the recent frigid game in Foxboro where BB was happy to give the ball to Peyton Manning first in OT, that he decided he did not want to give the ball to Manning in the dome a couple years back so he went for it on 4th and 2 rather than punt, that was a bad move? You think he should have punted and given the Colts and Manning back the ball with plenty of time to engineer a final winning drive? Do you remember how bad the Pats defense was back then? BB obviously had more respect for Manning's ability to move down the field than you.
So, you have not yet opined on this: If 4th and 2 a couple years ago was a bad move, I now ask you, was taking the wind and giving the ball to Manning in OT this year a bad one also?
One year he keeps the ball from Manning and it didn't work out. The next time he does give the ball to Manning, and it does work out. But the results don't seem to matter for you. Its either a good move or a bad one in your mind, and whether it works or fails does not determine that. So was taking the wind and giving the ball to Manning good or bad?

On a calm day, that's a stupid move. Under the old rules, it's a stupid move. In that wind, under the current rules, it's understandable. Not what I would have done given the way the Broncos were running the ball, but I understand it.
Which is exactly how I would have felt if they'd marched down the field and scored a TD. Or if Manning had thrown a screen that went for 80 yds.
Doesn't matter.
Good decisions usually have good results. Bad ones usually have bad ones. If they don't it doesn't magically make a bad move a good one.
Same thing with fourth and two. If they'd converted it it still would have been a mind numbingly stupid thing to do. Your hero Peter King called it "I'm smarter than everybody else hubris." I don't know what that means, but I know it was the final stupid move in a series full of them, regardless of how it turned out.
Getting there without killing anybody doesn't make driving home from the bar a good decision.

Sorry, it was the penultimate stupid move. The final one was coming out five wide. Not even pretending they might run. Stupid.

Would your second speeding ticket cost the same as a first-time offender?
Anyway, good to see you're finished celebrating the world series victory. On a football board.

Thank you for confirming the reality of bias. Everything else being equal, BB would get more punishment than Tomlin for the same offense simply because Tomlin has a more "likeable" personality than Belichick.

Forget about his .727 win percentage in NE for a moment, I guess the guy simply doesn't know squat about coaching a game. I'll even bet that when the camera shows him on the sidelines writing down all those notes, he's actually making a grocery list.George1963 wrote: I don't know what that means, but I know it was the final stupid move in a series full of them, regardless of how it turned out.

Knowing you have a swiss cheese defense and trying to keep the ball away from Manning in perfect conditions with plenty of time was a penultimate stupid move. OK. I'm clear now. Still was a bad spot. LOL.
I think you should take up your hypothesis about Belichick's stupidity with all the legions of Brady haters. They see it differently than you. They say the only reason for the success of the untalented, unskilled Brady is because he has been able to thrive in the "system" of his genius head coach, who could make any run-of-the-mill QB successful. You could educate those ignorant folks, and school them how it was Brady's greatness that allowed this penultimatly stupid coach to succeed, not the other way around as they mistakenly believe.

I'm sure that's what it is.
Hey, let me ask you something;
This weekend Ndamukong Suh and Sealver Siliga both kick a guy in the head. Would Suh's punishment be;
A: More than Siligas
B: Less
C: Exactly the same
D: Permanent?
LOL
I'm sure that's what it is.

Since you seem willing to forget about his .450 percentage in Cleveland and his .441 percentage in NE sans Brady, I guess I can do that.
I guess the guy simply doesn't know squat about coaching a game.
That's not true. I'd say he knows squat about coaching.
I'll even bet that when the camera shows him on the sidelines writing down all those notes, he's actually making a grocery list.
Enemies list would be my guess.
Knowing you have a swiss cheese defense
11th in the league that year, 5th in scoring, and had stopped Manning on 7 of 11 possessions to that point in the game.
and trying to keep the ball away from Manning in perfect conditions with plenty of time
Less than 2 min with no timeouts.
was a penultimate stupid move.
Yeppers. That's what Rags said anyway.
OK. I'm clear now.
Glad to know you're finally catching on.
Still was a bad spot.
Depends on your point of view. Remember last year that I said Manning never seems to catch a break. He caught one there.
Big one.

Oh, you mean the spot of the ball.
That would bring up stupid things # 1 and 2 of that mini drive.
If they hadn't needlessly burned their last two timeouts they could have appealed that.
They would have lost, but they could have tried.

George, you're priceless. I give you an "A" for your last two posts. Although I'm sure you probably got some facts wrong, but I just don't know which ones. lol.
I'll go to my grave KNOWING, not just thinking, it was a BAD SPOT of the ball.
Now you cite Rags as an example of good football judgment?
LOL.
