Jim Irsay comments
New England is not the only place where there is a little drama going on.
Jim Irsay: "We've changed our model a little bit (meaning after Peyton).... We made the playoffs 11 times, but 7 out of 11, we're one and done."
Insult to Manning?
Dungy says, "He (Irsay) is making this personal."
I have no doubt Manning will respond with class, meaning he won't say much. He'll do his talking on the field.
Looking forward to watching the game.
Pats/Jets at 1:00. Colts/Broncos at 8:30.

Irsay's an idiot. The only thing that keeps him from being known as the biggest joke of an NFL owner is that he's actually pretty good at what he does. I think the Broncos have it in their power, if they choose to, to really, REALLY throw a beating on the Colts. And this pinhead wants to go and piss off PM. I de-twittered him, or whatever you call it, a while ago because the good stuff he might come out with every once in a while was overshadowed by the mountain of nonsense.
Peyton won't say a word about it, but Fox ripped Irsay pretty good on the radio. For Fox, anyway.

Re: Jim Irsay comments
Rare for a coach to knock an owner simply for career purposes. I always liked John Fox, came from the Parcells tree.
Irsay is an idiot. Not sure how good LiL Irsay is.
If he reached the decision to let PM go, and having the #1 draft pick, it was either Luck or RGIII.
He's no Bill Polian or Charley Casserley to figure that out.
Oh, he fired Polian.
Yes Pagano is a good coach and a terrific and brave guy.

Oh yea. I've never posted anything myself, my life isn't that compelling, but you follow people involved in things you like, sports or politics or whatever, and it's great for breaking news.

At least we know when he dies or gets committed or whatever happens we'll have the prettiest owners in the league when his daughters take over.guppy wrote:George1963 wrote:

The more I think about it, the more it seems to me that Irsays comments aren't so much a shot at Peyton as they are against Polian. And Tom Brady. So I guess I'm good with that.

How so?
After a series of tweets defending himself Tuesday night, Irsay took to Twitter on Wednesday to say he meant that if the Colts had given Manning better special teams and defense, they could have won more than one Super Bowl, instead of asking the quarterback to do too much.
This is a shot at Brady?
Polian maybe. But Polian said Irsay was wrong in his facts and in his opinion.

"We've changed our model a little bit, because we wanted more than one of these," Irsay says, flicking up his right hand to show his [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] XLI championship ring. "(Tom) Brady never had consistent numbers, but he has three of these," Irsay adds. "Pittsburgh had two, the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] had two, Baltimore had two and we had one. That leaves you frustrated.
Anyway Jungle Jim cleared everything up with a tweet last night;

It's from a Pearl Jam song and if you look at in context it's actually pretty elegant. Somebody probably thought it up for him.
and now i rub my eyes, for he has returned
seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned
for he still smiles...
and he's still strong
nothing's changed, but the surrounding bullshit that has grown
and now he's home
and we're laughing like we always did
my same old, same old friend
until a quarter-to-ten
i saw the strain creep in
he seems distracted and i know just what is gonna happen next
before his first step
he's off again

Well, how about this interpretation as well. Its just as plausable and makes perfect sense. His comments were a shot at Dungy, and a compliment to Belichick. After all, Belichick only had this average QB to work with who "never had consistent numbers", but yet he has three of these [rings].
So if Irsay wants to take Dungy down a few notches because he should have accomplished more than he did, while at the same time elevating Belichick's accomplishments which were accomplished with an inconsistent, average QB, then I'm with you, I'm good with his comments too. LOL.
