You can't argue with science.
For those interested, there is this scientific study by Goizueta Business School at Emory University in Atlanta that ranked the "Best" NFL fanbases based on sports marketing, and ranked who is the "most loyal and supportive" fans are in 2013.
This is their Top 10:
1. Dallas
2. New England
3. New York Jets
4. New Orleans Saints
5. New York Giants
6. Indianapolis Colts
7. Chicago Bears
8. Baltimore Ravens
9. Pittsburgh Steelers
10. Tenessee Titans.
So we in NE come in second to Dallas once again (just like in total $ value of the franchise)? I won't quibble however. After last hockey season I'm getting use to being No. 2. What's next? The Red Sox going to the World Series, only to get beat in the ninth innning of Game 7 by the Dodgers on a home run by former Red Sox failure Carl Crawford as the Fenway Faithful shout "Beat L.A. Beat L.A."? I can see it now.
But being Number 2 out of 32 is still pretty awesome. And its scientfically proven too. By a university from Atlanta. So there's not much to question there.
Now the same school also did a follow up ranking, and this time factored in championships and post season success over the last decade as a source of long term fan equity.
Here is the link to the published results.

Now we're up to Number 1. Thats more like it.
So what do we learn here?
Well, I always knew that my fellow Patriots fans and I were awesome, loyal and supportive above all other fanbases (except, I guess, one from Texas, but we're working on that).
Now there's irrefutable, unbiased scientific proof.

Was expecting all kind of high pitched responses to this. Guess not. Probably cause its not my hypothesis. In this instance I'm merely a humble messenger on behalf of academia.
BTW, kudos to the Jets fans for being ranked third just behind NE in the most loyal and supportive fanbase category. Seriously. Quite a statement considering the state of the product on the field lately.

Hang in their my friend...keep the faith and perhaps one day you'll be number one when it is truly scientifically proven!

LOL. As I said, I'm just the messenger.
But how 'bout those Jets fans coming in at #3 though? Not bad. Gotta hand it to them.
Now Sheila, you should know me by now. I am a very humble individual. Just like most Pats fans. We are all very humble.
We know very well that we don't rule the world....
.... just the National Football League.
