Oh, Percy...
Seahawks WR Percy Harvin plans to undergo hip surgery
Percy Harvin, 25, was cleared to practice by Seahawks doctors last week but told them he wasn't comfortable and wanted a second opinion. He got it on Tuesday from a noted, hip specialist Dr. Bryan Kelly, at the Hospital for Special Surgery and will now likely miss the entire season.
Seattle knew about Harvin's injury history before trading first-, third- and seventh-round picks to the Minnesota Vikings for him in March and awarding him a five-year contract extension that included $25.5 million in guarantees.
The Seahawks will host the Vikings on Nov. 17.
I know many take issue with the conservative nature of our albino GM, but at least we don't have to put up with this type of clusterfuckery, eh?
The Seahawk WERE the favored team to meet SF in the NFC title game this year. But now?

Idiots. Fucking idiots.
I can see gambling a low draft pick on a player with an injury. Low risk/high reward. But trading high and multiple picks for a guy you knew had a serious injury??? The mind boggles.

Of course, they're trying desperately to CYA and claim that Poohsee's injury happened after the trade was made and new contract signed--in the course of his own off-season workouts...and that he NEVER would have been cleared to complete the trade since they conducted a most thorough exam prior that would have revealed the issue. The problem with that story is that a few days ago--upon showing up for camp, Poohsee was given his conditioning tests and physical exam and was cleared to play with apparently no issues noted. If he made it through the second exam--why wouldn't he have made it through the first? The only difference is that it was at HIS insistence at the beginning of camp that there was a problem and then a second opinion was pursued.
My guess is that Poohsee has had this problem for some time...kept his mouth shut as he was traded and signed for $$$$--then revealed the issue as something new at the beginning of camp.
Sweet, sweet deal for the queens to punt a loser like this and get the King's ransom they scored for damaged goods physically, as well as in the integrity department.. Wouldn't want him under any circumstances...

Re: Oh, Percy...
From what I've read this is an injury that you can play with and many do.
Clearly, the Seahawks thought, probably because they were assured by Harvin himself, that he would be willing to needle up and play with it until the offseason. However, once "Mr. I've got menstrual cramps and can't play today" signed his new, guaranteed money contract he opted out of the whole "I'll play through it" sham.

Got to give the Purple credit for making the deal.
Don't know if the same can be said about us giving damaged goods in Bishop to them.

I'm hearing that Bishop is looking like a stud in practice. Also, his doctor claims that he fully expects him to be 100% with no further complications. I like this pick-up--I have a feeling he'll be making a big impact on blitzing situations. It was a risk worth taking at a bargain rate. Much different than Percy. Having said that, not all is lost for the Seahawks--Percy is young and he's an unusual talent--they'll get their money's worth (well most of it) out of him when he returns next year at 100%. Randy will probably fill in for him this year, so they won't miss a beat.

What kind of operation are they running up there, anyway? They were all giddy to take their stolen win last season, they have copious PED suspensions, and now team doctors pushing truly injured players to get on the field 70s-style. They're fucking dickslaps and watching them come crashing down to earth, whenever it happens, is gonna be fun.

What do you expect from a team essentially led by a fuckclown like Pete Carroll?

Yup.. what a low-character individual. Team reflects that rather nicely all in all.
