What funeral?
It must be awkward. What do you say when you dress for a funeral, and the dead guy turns out to be still alive?

Knicks have the younger, better, deeper team. But no matter what happens from here, CELTIC PRIDE lives.

The Knicks dressing in black for the Celtics funeral reminded me of the Houston Texans wearing varsity jackets to Foxboro to play the Patriots. That fashion statement didn't work out to well either. lol

Well Gup, had to wait 48 hours to reply.
Know what, I can't celebrate or trash the Celtics. The old leprachauns showed heart and fight.
Last night's game made me hit the [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].
I never saw any game where huge leads diminished time and again.
'Melo better get hot again. Third straight game he was off for the most part.
Damn, I wanted to throw a little "troll" your way. I can't.
I'd want Doc to coach my team all day.
One Celtic scored a basket Wednesday and glided down court, arms-spread.....thought Santonio Holmes was a Celtic. And yes, the Knicks did an immature (stupid) thing with the dressed-in-black. Athletes celebrate too early these days.

LR, its not "troll" when it come from you my friend. Its fun and good natured sportsmanship. As I've said many times, I like the "back and forth" when there is humor and cleverness involved. Nothing wrong with a little trash talk. Anyway, a BIG CONGRATS to you and to the Knicks and Knick fans. It was clear throughout the whole regular season they were the better team. Younger. Deeper. More athletic. The team that was obviously better on paper was better on the court too.
The Celtic offense is downright dreadful. It makes me sad to say it, but I don't think Paul Pierce, a future HOFer, and one of the all-time great Celtics (15 years in a Celtics uniform) should be on the team next year. He's simply too old and slow, something I've been saying for two years everytime I see him commit a turnover. Just not quick enough anymore. The Big Three Era is officially over. All in all it was a decent run. In one year they went from worst to first, and they got one championship out of it. In my mind it should have been two really. They deserved it more than the Lakers in 2010 in my mind. Game 7, fourth quarter, more fouls were called on the Celtics, sending the Lakers to the line, in that quarter than any quarter in any playoff game that entire year. It was call, after call, after call, all going the Lakers way. The C's were leading in that fourth quarter and should have held on for the championship. But it didn't happen and there's no crying over spilt milk. Championships are hard to come by, but then again, Knick fans know that. For the Celtics, its total rebuild time now. Danny Ainge has some tough roster decisions coming up. I've love to keep KG one more year, but he probably doesn't want to play if Pierce is not there. I'd keep Jeff Green and Rondo. That's it. Everyone else is trade material. Big changes ahead for the franchise. Will Doc even be back? Who knows?
Good luck to NY against the Pacers. I'll be watching while you and George bombard each other with in-your-face trash talk and chest thumping over your respective teams. (I'm assuming George is a Pacer fan, but I don't know.) LOL. Just kidding. Thats probably not going to happen. But I can dream can't I? lol.
For me, it over. I'll still follow the NBA playoffs, but my focus is now on to hockey. Go Bruins.
But before I finally put the Celtics to bed for the season, I wish to post one final tribute:

Nope. Except for the Colts it's all Chicago, so I'll be rooting for the gutty, gritty, never say die Bulls as they lose to the Nets tonight.
Assuming they can come up with 5 guys healthy enough to play that is.

I'd LOVE to see a Bruins - Blackhawks Stanley Cup Final. Two tough Original Six teams, both with great fanbases, battling it out for the Cup. I hope it happens. Back in the 70s I thought the Blackhawks jerseys were the coolest looking in sports.

Gup.....you are a righteous dude!
George...Chicago? Bulls? Cubs? 'Hawks?
I thought you and Gymbo...would be Bronco fans. Not sure if he follows the Colts, although it looks like another decade of winning football at least in Indy.
Denver ain't Chicago. (Just as snowy).
I remember in the 90s the Knicks-Indy battles with Ewing, Rik Smits, et al.
Wow..I'm all over the place in this post.

Re: What funeral?
Red Auerbach to me was the Vince Lombardi of basketball. (Both Brooklynites)
Another NY guy the world stole.
He started off coaching junior high school in Brooklyn.
The rest is history.
I remember back in the day when there was one nationally televised NBA game on. Sunday afternoons.
Seeing that parquet floor and then the Celtics ahead of the Knicks towards the end when Red would take out that victory cigar.....you know the rest.
Could see Heinsohn, Russell, Cousy et al as if it were yesterday.
Damn they were good!!

Should have had more faith. Coach Tibs learned well under Doc.

Faith involves belief in the miraculous, so I guess you're right.
