[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]'s disappointing 2012 season can be blamed on injuries. Others are blaming Woodley himself.
One unnamed teammate called out Woodley to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
columnist Ron Cook saying, "He was awful. He tells us he works out, but
we didn't see it. He wasn't in shape. That has to be a reason why he
was always hurt."
I hate when a player doesn't put his name to comments when they're
overly critical. That being said, these strong comments carry some
validity.
Woodley has been a media darling from [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
This raises questions on Woodley's commitment to training. General
manager Kevin Colbert didn't exactly rush to Woodley's defense in saying
the 2009 Pro Bowl player always carries a lot of weight. In South Park
terms, Colbert essentially called Woodley big-boned.
Over the past two seasons, Woodley has missed nine games due to
hamstring and ankle injuries. To make matters worse, he has four sacks
in the past 13 games that he's played.
This type of production isn't going to cut it, especially if the Steelers end up cutting [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
to clear up salary-cap room. The Steelers need the Woodley who recorded
nine sacks in the first eight games of the 2011 season. He looked like
the NFL Defensive Player of the Year that season until a hamstring
injury derailed him. It's not like the Steelers have anyone who can push
Woodley. Backups [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] haven't proven they can make an impact as starters.
In order for the Steelers to get to the playoffs, they need to
generate turnovers on defense. To generate turnovers, they need to get
more pressure on the quarterback. And to get more pressure on the
quarterback, they need Woodley to focus on football this offseason. If
he doesn't, it could create more rumblings in the Steelers locker room.

The Willie Colon and LaMarr Woodley contracts have effectively killed this team.

In all seriousness, if you live in Pittsburgh and know people, you will definitely hear that there is NO cohesiveness to this team.
Referencing another thread addressing the "Fractured Locker Room" article, it's obvious, even if you dont talk to people
"in the know" with the organization that this is NOT the Steeler's of old.
The sense of entitlement exhibited by WAY too many young athletes these days is found in the Steeler's organizatation.
Much of it is exhibited in the lack of discipline on the field with stupid penalties and the coaching staff is NOT putting these young kids in their place. Man, way too many things to rant about...let me gather my thoughts and return.

Perhaps it doesn't help that your head coach acts like a ghetto cheerleader on the sidelines....just sayin'

If you live in Pittsburgh....Caucasian please....lol. Not making the playoffs leads to complaints, plain and simple. LaMarr Woodley is a piece of shit. So is Willie Colon. So is Mike Wallace. Thankfully, they will only make the huge mistake with two out of those three douchbags. I think Harrison said it (about Woodley)...he's probably pissed that he is facing being cut when he is working his ass off to come back from injury and he sees a dough boy making ten mill per season without even working out. Harrison garners all the blocking attention...Woodley is an empty uniform, and James knows it because he realizes it scheme-wise as per the opposing offense. LeBeau could only counter by bringing pressure from the inside last year. Get rid of Woodley. Get Rid of Colon. Get rid of Wallace. Get younger and hungrier players (hungrier not in the sense of the buffet table that Woodley and Colon frequent).
