Re: This is awesome...
It is definitely pretty dead in here I just think that the death of the AOL message boards pretty much changed everything. Some joined the facebook board, some went to other forums, and many probably just realized that the boards really didn't mean much to them anymore once they were gone and just moved on with their lives. The AOL board was unique in that it was formed way back in the late 90s when the internet was a far different place. It was a great place where all of us fans could congregate and share our love for the Cowboys and there really wasn't many other options. Many of the people on that board were on there for years and years, but even towards the end even that board wasn't anywhere close to what it was like back in the day. It really is a shame but I don't think we will ever see a message board like those days again. It's not just this Cowboys board either. The Eagles AOL board used to be equally as busy with people and now Kev is like the only one left. I wish people would post some comments about the team and chime in from time to time, but it just doesn't seem like anyone cares enough to do so. What can you do?

You're right Keith...it seems a "few" still want their one stop news but want nothng to do with talkin Cowboys football. Truly a shame. On the facebook board I cut back a bunch...even though a few of the usuals are posting some football talk..it seems they're doing it just to try and keep the board alive. Maybe I'll pop back in a couple weeks ot see if it livened up any...I KNOW some people are reading...shame they don't just step up and talk some football. Guess they just don't care enough...like you said.

I admire your enthusiasm Cat...problem is...Keith and I have posted tons of news all for people to read and not give their opinions or even make an attempt to talk football. When this board opened I posted a ton of news...and got good amounts of people reading...but no one contributing. After numerous threats of stopping the news posting, no one wanted to step forward and do anythign to keep the board alive...so people just split and went to Facebook where we have a handful of the same contributors to the old AOL board. People other than yourself and maybe Keith..just want to come here, read news and leave. If a pretty lady can get some people to show themselves and contribute, I'm not opposed to dropping by once in a while. I post a bunch of news on the Facebook page along with BrazosBluz(his old AOL name)...and we get a little action...not too much though.

Re: This is awesome...
Been busy this summer, so I haven't checked in here much. I'm not a big discussion person as I always seem to be busy, but I will be running my annual picks contest for the season on this board. Only had 13 people participate regularly last year. If I don't get at least 10, I'll end it early.
