I'm not really sure how many wins the Vikings will get this year however they got the first won. Can't wait for Simpson to get back. I think the Vikes DB's should get 1-2 picks against the Colts next week.

It's been a while since the Vikings were on the right side of good fortune. It looked like another miraculous loss. There was nothing lucky about Sunday's victory. The Vikings did what they needed to do with only 20 ticks left on the clock and executed their game plan with perfection to get them the victory in O.T. Having said that I do not agree that the Vikings will win more than 5 or 6 games this year. The schedule certainly looked easy when you consider the teams they play outside of the division but did anyone see RG3? The Redskins, Buccaneers, Niners, Texans, Rams, and 2 against the Pack, Detroit and Chicago doesn't bode well for the Vikings. I see them winning one divisional game (Detroit at the dome) and losing to the Texans, Bucs, Skins, 49'ers and throw in a typical unexpected loss to a bad team and you have only 6 victories. I think that's optimistic. The important thing here is this. There is no need to have bigger expectations. The team is rebuilding and the youth movement is in place. There are a ton of positives to take away from Sunday's game other than the victory....Special teams were AWESOME! Blair Walsh did something the Vikings could not do for years. Kick the ball out of the end zone! How many 45 yard returns have we seen over the last several years? This guy has a bomb for a leg and I think he will develop into a Janikowski like kicker for years to come. Kick coverage was the best I have seen in YEARS. What can you say about Ponder? No INT'S! Not perfect but showed that with a full training camp and nice job by the O-line that he can get the job done. He's young and showed great improvement from last season and that's all you can expect from him at this point and time. Great job by C.P. with his 1st come from behind victory a la our old friend two minute Tommy Kramer! Unlike many I had little doubt that Adrian Peterson would be huge and he proved me right. With that kind of work ethic and determination results are going to follow so no one should be surprised. The defense was disappointing at times and I thought the d-line was average at best. The secondary gave up way too many 3rd and longs and should have forced more punts. They were physical for the most part but out of position at times and that lead to the touchdown at the end of regulation. The secondary better get their shit together soon or we might be staring at another 3 or 4 win season. Lastly you have to consider the opponent. The Jags were minus their two best defensive players on the road with a running back who held out until last week. It took overtime to beat a bad team and it's not going to get any easier after the Indy game if they can get out of there with a victory. Nice win but let's not get crazy and think this team is playoff bound anytime soon!

great win for the vikings . it was the seacond longest comback with such little time on the clock infranchise history their 80 yard drive vs the browns in 1980 having only 14 seconds left. what some failed to notice though is adrian peterson passed robert smith for the vikings alltime rushing lead. i am still possitive as this team grows it will win some games vs teams most believe they wont beat. they might lose some vs teams they should beat but i can see this team blossoming very quickly. btw i was beginning to wonder if any of the former aol message board people had followed to this board

Thor.....you will not regret the Kalil pick. It was the right move. Let's face it, the O-line is the most boring part of watching football. No amazing catches or 40 yard TD runs by the fat guys. We all want a Randy Moss type pick every draft that immediately makes an impact and thrills the fans but as lame as the O-line is it is positively the most underrated and perhaps the most important part of the team as a whole. A bad O-line means the QB can't consistently find receivers, no holes open for RB's and who cares about a shut down corner if the offense can't put points on the board. This guy is the Randy Moss of O-lineman and it will show as the year goes on. I commend Speilman for his patience and commitment to rebuilding by knocking down the house and starting up again one brick at a time. So far so good and when the house is built we will be younger, stronger, better. Give it time. The Vikings strategy has always been to remodel the place instead of simply building new and now they're finally doing just that. I like what has been done so far and watch teams like Chicago collapse in a year or two when Urlacher, Briggs and the rest of their defense is too old to play. These teams are built to win now much like the Vikings of 09. Every now and then you have to put a plan in place and start from the ground up. I love this years draft class and all of them are contributing. Throw in Kyle Rudolf and an improved Toby Garhardt from last year and you have a lot to look forward to in the near future. Next year we get our corner for sure.

Good comments here and I was pissing in my pants at the last last drive and the OT win. When J'ville scored with 20 seconds to go it was like SSDD and I was super bummed. To see that kind of comeback has me giddy as hell. WHAT AN EFFORT!!! Not something we have seen for years. AP, what can you say...what a beast and an attitude that cannot be matched; Rudolph, what a great pick at tight end; Harvin, have loved that guy since day one, a true over achiever and super clutch. My question was how Ponder would do after last season. No camp last year, thrown to the wolves after the McNabb fiasco with a crappy "O" line. Had to feel sorry for him last year but thought a camp this year may help. No s&%$ sherman...he was incredible to me. No picks and a 75% completation ratio and he is virtually a rookie. I'm impressed. He did not face a contender for sure but his performance bodes well for the future. Last thing, the team chemistry looks great. Some of the TV shots showed guys looking like they just took the lead in the Super Bowl.

DirecTV gifted us all the Sunday Ticket for this game thankfully and I had no intention of getting the ticket this year but now may have to reconsider. Not that they will contend, rather that they may well be an entertaining year and great fun to watch.

Yup, I DVR'd the game and am now going to the 4th quarter and watch it all again.

I hear ya Thor but my reasoning behind the Kalil pick at #1 instead of a corner is simple.....Kalil was projected to be an all world, one come along every ten year type lineman. He's one of those "can't miss" guys and they had to take him. Like I said....I'm sure they'll address the secondary again next April if not in the off season. As you mentioned they did at least address the secondary by drafting Smith and we should have a top ten pick in the 2013 draft so I don't see why it matters much. I'm hearing the corners coming out next year are better than last years class so it might pay off anyway. That's all I'm saying. No way you pass on a guy like Kalil. I realize that it's been forever and a day since we had a shut down corner and it makes me sick as well so do not be surprised when we take two corners in next years draft! On a side note there is a rumor that the Packers have contacted the Vikings and offered a number one pick for Jared Allen. Not sure if it's just fans talking but if you search you'll find it. Not so sure I wouldn't make that trade if it's true.
