* Felix Jones has an injured rib
IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys running back Felix Jones suffered a rib injury during Wednesday night's victory over the New York Giants.
Jones missed a few snaps but returned after going to the locker room to get examined. He didn't have any carries for just the third time in his career when active.
On kick returns, Jones finished with 61 yards on three returns. His longest was for 25 yards.
Cowboys officials don't believe Jones' rib injury is serious, considering he returned to the game. But Jones, who was targeted twice on passing plays, didn't contribute any yards to the offense.
The Cowboys have instead focused on starting running back DeMarco Murray, who rushed for 131 yards on 20 carries. Murray didn't have the best of running lanes, and his 48-yard run started on a scramble in the backfield in which he ran into fullback Lawrence Vickers before darting down the Cowboys sideline.
When Murray left the game to catch a breath, Jones wasn't inserted. He was in the locker room getting treatment, which enabled Phillip Tanner to get the call. But a timeout pushed him off the field and Murray returned to the game.
It doesn't seem as if Jones is running with a burst. While the Cowboys express confidence in him, it's interesting that he did not get a single carry.
