Yes he flaked out...but he put the packers back on the map. He should be co owner now.... just saying!

Favre will get his due recognition... eventually.
In the meanwhile, Packer fans are still digesting two facts: 1) Favre destroyed his goodwill with the Packers with his zeal to join the Vikings and get back at his old team, and 2) In Rodgers we now have a QB who is not only equal to or better than Favre in every aspect of playing the position of quarterback and is infinitely classier as a human being.
The mindset in Packerland is: Who needs you, Brent? Fuck you and go away.
At some point down the road, however, things will mellow, Favre will get his ceremony, and Packer fans will remember the many positive aspects of his career, not its ugly ending.
