Postseason Shopping List Empty Postseason Shopping List

As we move from 2015 to 2016 we can look objectively at the team.

1) Expectations for 2015 were about 11-5 judging by the schedule we had. Expected losses were to be Denver, Arizona, and Detroit at their place and probably K.C. and Seattle at our place.
2) Surprise wins were K.C. and Seattle at home with the Detroit road win coming due to a Hail Mary. One in a million chance.
3) Surprise and sad losses: Detroit, Chicago, and Minnesota at home. Not because they are so less talented than us but because as bad as we played they all gave us 2nd chances to tie or win the game late. Choke factor. And we beat them at their place.
4) Losing Jordy Nelson probably is the difference between 10-6 and 13-3. We just could not compensate.
5) Defense was a surprise especially after losing Barrington early and losing 2 CBs to free agency. Good job by Capers getting the first and 2nd year players to make some plays. Best defense since 2010.
6). Disappointments for 2015: Adams, Cobb, Richard Rodgers, and the offensive line. Blocking was sub par with too many holding penalties. And don't forget Tim Masthay. 2 bad years in a row. MM ( Not having team prepared at all for games in Denver and Arizona. And falling asleep at the wheel in 3 home losses.).
7) Surprises: CBs, Rollins and Randall. Rookies forced to play like 5 year veterans.
Cool Bright spots: Mike Daniels, Crosby ( except for one crucial kick ).
9) Needs for 2016. A bonafide TE. Another wideout who can stretch and catch besides Jordy. Another offensive tackle so that when our starter goes down we don't lose much. Bruce Wilkerson got the job done in 1996. I think we can find someone in 2016.

Something has to be done to shore up the LB corp as well.    Nate Palmer, Nick Perry, Ryan #47 ............. the guy wearing #48 ............ I think they all need to be replaced.  There are a few back up defensive linemen that need to go as well.  Add that to your list above Milani.......... and given the relatively pansy 2nd place North schedule next season ............. It should be simple to go 13-3 and host a playoff game in Titletown (and RULE THE NORTH) again.   Barclay should go as well.
