Which do you prefer?
Which do you prefer, actual football, or going over to the dead horse cemetery and digging up a dead horse that died long ago and laying that dead horse on the ground, and then beating it over and over until you're exhausted? The dead horse is definitely dead, but if you so choose, you can still beat it and beat it and beat it. But no matter how much you beat that old dead horse, it doesn't change. Its still dead.
How about some real football instead? How's that sound?
Steeler Fever prefers actual football to beating dead horses.
Smart man.

I for one am ready for some football and have no desire to talk about any deflating topics other than football. So we are going to keep this post to strictly football talk. Everybody got it, good.
My Steelers will be down two of its best offensive players in WR Martavis Bryant and RB LeVeon Bell because they couldn't stay off the wacky weed, Bryant failed the substance abuse policy and Bell got a DUI for marijuana. Obviously this is going to hurt our offense.
The Steelers defense went from old and slow only a year ago to young and dumb at present. First round picks abound on this side of the ball with, LB's Ryan Shazier, Bud Dupree and Jarvis Jones, joining DL Cameron Heyward and second round pick (talented enough to be a first rounder except for injury and a deep draft) Stephon Tuitt, all on first contracts. These youngsters compliment ILB and Pro Bowler Lawrence Timmons and NT Steve McLendon to round out our front seven.
It is the inconsistencies in the secondary that is giving Steelers fans fits even though the starters are all on second or even third contracts. I expect this group to fare much better than expectations once the season gets started. Our coaches have played the starters very sparingly during the preseason and the fans have judged this group by the play of our backups and guys who got cut.
I will link this fan post at BTSC, if somebody does troll, please don't feed them. Thanks for reading and feel free to ask us any football related questions.
*Note to Tom Brady, James Harrison is still lurking on the sideline now saying he is going to appeal his fines for knocking QB's in the head. Just thought you should know..
Go Steelers!

Re: Which do you prefer?
Steelers are only going as far as their defense allows them. I suspect it wont be very good at the beginning of the season, but should improve as the year progresses. Right now, I suspect it is worse than last years group by a pretty big margin. I doubt this game ends up as a 13-10 score.... I'm guessing 42-35 pts to be scored by each....I HOPE- it is the Steelers that prevails, but I won't be surprised if they lose even if it is big.guppy wrote:Which do you prefer, actual football, or going over to the dead horse cemetery and digging up a dead horse that died long ago and laying that dead horse on the ground, and then beating it over and over until you're exhausted? Nice to see you talking some football. Very nice. As far as the Pats go, I won't have a clue what they really are until Thanksgiving. That's usually the way it works. Slow starters. The starting center is now out eight weeks, and that hurts. What is really interesting is the OTHER teams in the AFCE, Buffalo, Miami and the Jets. How much have each of them improved? Their arrows go up from last year, while the Pats have gone down (losing Revis, Browner, Wilfork and Vereen). LaFell out for six weeks. No big body WR. Could be tough. The two big tight ends will have to be the focus. Two monsters. Another year, another very different team makeup. No Blount for the first game, so I don't expect much of a running attack. We'll see.

September football is nowhere near as important as December ball.guppy wrote:Admin wrote:
