Ty Law voted into Patriots HOF.
Ty Law was voted by fans as the 2014 inductee into the Patriots Hall of Fame. He is the 22nd person to be inducted. Well deserved. One of the all time great Patriots.
Here is a nice shot from the good old days of Ty of picking off the ball as a couple of Harrisons - one in blue, and one in white - look on.

.... and a memorable shot of Ty taking one back to the house in the Super Dome against The Greatest Show on Turf that won't be soon forgotten.

Just remaining a Patriot for a certain time period should get you in the NE HOF.

Of these three finalists for 2014 only one could go, and Ty got the most votes.

Obviously in Parcells' case it was popularity, not competency blocking his entry. How does one gain entry in Canton, but not Foxboro or any town part and parcel of the big hall? I'd imagine he'd rather hang with Madden, Landry, LT, Lombardi than Brady and Bill. Wouldn't anyone?

I wouldn't consider it a slight. Different circumstances, different timing. No conclusions to be drawn from it. Canton admits, what, half a dozen each year? Foxboro admits just one, and its based on fan votes. A player who was popular like Ty is usually going to get more votes than a coach, right or wrong. There is also the remains of some negative feeling here in the way Parcells left. He didn't even travel with the team after the Superbowl, and the feeling was that before the superbowl he was more focused on planning and making his move to his next job with the Jets than focusing on the superbowl game itself vs. the Packers. He didn't seem to care about the game.
Once Desmond Howard returned the kickoff 99 yards, that essentially was the ball game. All the air went out of the Patriots balloon at that point.
The game began with the teams combining for a total of 24 first-quarter points, the most in Super Bowl history. The Packers then scored 17 unanswered points in the second quarter, including Favre's Super Bowl record 81-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. In the third quarter, the Patriots cut the lead to 27–21 off of running back [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]'s 18-yard rushing touchdown. But on the ensuing kickoff, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] returned the ball a then Super Bowl record 99 yards for a touchdown. The score proved to be the last one as both defenses took over the rest of the game.
When you think of Parcells, which team do you most associate him with?
When I think Parcells, I think Giants first.
Which baseball team do you most associate Carlton Fisk with? Factor in that he spent more years in a White Sox uniform than a Red Sox uniform.

You are probably correct. In later years, he became a money-grab gypsy. (Dallas- Miami). I was thinking of him between the NE/Jets rivalry.
