I'm glad its not opening day in Boston.  The weather is miserable.

Not long until the Boston Marathon (the Red Sox always play at 11:00 AM on Patriots day).  Its a great holiday atmosphere all day on a Monday.

Its going to be HUGE, patriotic and defiant.  Security will be tight, but mostly just around the finish line.

Watched an episode of NCIS Los Angeles this week, and there was a bomb explosion scene.  When the NCIS team investigated, they found an exploded pressure cooker.  LL Cool J said, "Just like Boston."

The weather here this morning was crazy as well. It started off sleeting and then turned into a fast quick snowfall. Only accumulated about two inches by me, some areas had up to five.   By early afternoon the sun came out, temp rose to 50 and all the snow melted.

Yes, the year anniversary of the Boston bombing is coming up.  Last week I read a moving article by a bystander at the Boston Marathon and what he has been through.  Jeff Bauman is his name and he has written a book called "Stronger".  [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

There are a handful of shows that I've watched that take "headlines" from real life that make it into their shows. Law and Order and SVU come to mind.

PS - The Mets lost their opener.
Yankees will play theirs on the 7th of April. <---- I know you wanted to know that!  lol

Well, the Red Sox may have lost their opener yesterday down in Baltimore, but at least Johnny Gomes wore his colors to the White House reception for the champs today.   Very Happy

He probably thinks they might meet in the World Series.

Some people are actually offended when the flag is made into items of clothing.  They say it is disrespectful to the flag.  Imagine?  Sheesh.

The only time I feel it would be disrespectful is if an actual flag was used.

HEH!

Red Sox Fan's Spelling Errors Overshadow Her Dig at Yankees' Jacoby Ellsbury

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Next time, proofread.
This fan should not be smiling while holding her poster. It's pretty impressive that she was able to mess up so badly despite writing only five words, with only three of the words consisting of more than two letters.
The New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox rivalry is as good as it gets in Major League Baseball. When a player switches sides of the rivalry, he can create a lot of bad blood inside of his old fanbase.
Former Red Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury isn't the first player to leave Boston for New York, but he is the latest one to do it. The 30-year-old signed [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] with the Yankees this past offseason.
Ellsbury made his debut with the Yankees on Tuesday in Houston, and one Red Sox fan decided to attend the game with her sign full of spelling errors. That's not a good look for Red Sox Nation.

Ellsbury wasn't "traded".  He was a free agent.  lol.

Embarrassing.  Obviously this gal represents the 1% of Red Sox Nation who we classify bimbos, but due to our charitable and forgiving character, we nonetheless allow her and her kind into the ballpark and permit them to wear Red Sox gear.

The other 99% of The Nation in her age group are from Harvard, M.I.T. and other institutions with traditions of academic excellence.

Ya, right.   Very Happy
